Welcome to the land of Illinois parrot rescue a Haven, dedicated to rehabilitation and rehoming of our feathered friends! We strive to provide a sanctuary for parrots who need a new lease on life. From nurturing, injured birds, back to health facilitating adoptions into a loving homes our mission is to give these beautiful creatures to care and attention. They deserve join us in our efforts to protect and preserve all parrots within Illinois.

Land of Illinois Parrot Rescue was founded on a simple but powerful belief: every parrot deserves a safe environment, proper care, and the opportunity to live a healthy, enriched life.
Our journey began with a single bird—Rocky, an African Grey—whose story opened our eyes to the complex needs of parrots in captivity. Like many parrots, Rocky came from a background of neglect and required time, structure, and specialized care to begin rebuilding trust.
Through consistent routines, appropriate nutrition, enrichment, and a calm environment, Rocky gradually progressed. Her behavior improved, her confidence grew, and she began to engage in a way that reflected both her intelligence and emotional depth. This experience reinforced what many in the avian community understand: parrots are highly intelligent, social animals that require long-term commitment and informed care.
Rocky’s impact extended beyond her individual recovery. She became the foundation for our mission and highlighted the need for responsible rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming practices. Her journey demonstrated the importance of patience, education, and proper placement in achieving successful outcomes for companion parrots.
Today, Land of Illinois Parrot Rescue is committed to

All visits are scheduled by appointment to ensure the safety and comfort of our parrots.
We conduct home visits to help ensure each bird is placed in a safe, suitable forever home. Depending on distance and mileage, a travel fee may apply due to rising fuel costs.
Thank you for understanding that these steps are in place to protect our birds and set everyone up for success.
